Sitting with the local school boys playing dominos and with rastas smoking and laughing was one of the highlights of my entire trip. I didn't feel the need to go through the gates at all, I was completely feeling the spirit of the place right from where I sat. Amazing. I TOTALLY agree Lillith it was a great way to take in the vibe!!!

You both will feel different if you ever get to put your hand on his tomb. #1 highlight of any and all trips I have taken any where in the world

 Re: Bob Marley
I agree, some aspects were terribly commercial, but Bob didn't disappoint. I had a nice convo with his uncle(a guide) there too. He can't stand the changes and feels very sad about them. I will definitely go back.

We were lucky enought o get Yoto The famous Capt. Crazy , and after speaking with him. We were the first ones in the complex so it was a private tour kinda of. The sorrow I saw in his eyes really hurt and It was a sad thing.

I lived in Claremont for 2 years been to nine mile a million times, have friends who are from Nine Mile. Im not a person who thinks celebrities are all that. Bob Marley was a brilliant musician, but he was also just a human being, he did many great things with his music to unite all races as he was mixed himself. But I dont believe in putting people on a pedestal to worship persay. Does that make sense??? Nine Mile has a great vibe and its not just Bob Marleys birth place that does that, its everything that little place has. Its the vibe in general. Bob Marley helps that but even without that there...nine mile would have a great vibe.
