I agree with whoever said it's all semantics and how you interpret the words "want" and "need". If someone who loved me told me they needed me I'd never assume they meant for money or support or stuff like that. I'd assume they need me like Urban said he needs his wife.....because their life is better WITH me.

The term "want" is more like expressing desire or something physical.

It must be in the semantics of the word, because when I said "need", I never even thought of money or material things.

I guess I don't like someone saying they need me because to me it creates too much pressure! :) I had a boyfriend that said he needed me in his life to make him happy etc., but I wasn't happy in the relationship, and when you think someone's happiness is hinging on whether you are with them or not - it is really hard to take. I would prefer "I want you in my life because you make me happy." I know - it probably doesn't seem like a big difference, but it is to me.

To each their own. ;)
